UM's Value.

We are always curious about the world, about all possibilities of life, all perspectives in the world, and all dimensions of the universe.

We are not satisfied with merely being the beneficiaries of the surroundings and holding privileges. Instead, we hope to contribute our own strength and ideas to society, innovate, and make constructive impacts.

We believe that every individual’s life is worth hearing. Our diverse family backgrounds and life experiences may have shaped our values and perspectives differently. However, in today’s world under increasing globalization, understanding, respecting, and embracing, instead of criticizing, these differences are more vital than ever. Especially in this era with heavy rat-racing, we may often be limited by our echo chamber and feel anxious about our future due to the single-dimensional evaluative system. Therefore, it is extremely valuable to truly recognize the existence of various possibilities of life styles that are equally impressive, and that there are more than one definition of “success” and “happiness”.

In addition, with the exponential development of technology, we’re entering a new era centering Artificial Intelligence. This further pushes us to reconsider the definition of human and the role of humanity subjects and careers in modern society. It is often said that philosophy has been marching on the spot for centuries while technology revolutionizes every decade. We wish to break this stereotype and contribute to humanities specifically applicable to our modern society and dynamic future.
